2. Canada Pension Plan (CPP) – February 26, 2025

CPP is a retirement pension, which is computed on a basis of a person’s lifetime earnings. Any worker who paid into CPP is entitled to CPP once he or she retires.

• Early retirement: Starts at age 60, but at a lower rate.
• Full retirement: Starts at age 65.
• With delayed benefits, you will get a 42% boost at age 70.

The federal government announced a tax-free $250 for working Canadians in 2023 with incomes up to $150,000.
